Ok, got to tell ya this story. My next door neighbor is a hard core spring gobbler hunter. He eats, sleeps, and breathes turkey huntin'. Gets a hard on hearin' turkeys gobble OK. Real turkey humper there he is. Anyways, He gets up at three in the mornin' and heads out to his tree stand earlier than humanly possible. Sneaks into his turkey callin' spot and sets up for the day. Now this is dark thirty. We live about a half mile apart. About 7AM I get up, walk down stairs and open the door for some cool mornin' air, hung over like usual. I look outside and see 8 turkeys, on big gobbler, the rest hens. I close the door, calmly walk back upstairs, grab the 12 ga. and commence to blalstin' the 7 AM alarm clock outside my door (ie the turkey). I have to walk across the yard in my underwear to finish the annoying bird off. I go back upstairs and sleep another couple hours. Of course I call my neighbor, who is back at his house by now getting a cup of coffee before heading out for another session of huntin'. I ask him if he heard me shoot? " Ya, I thought you tryin' to F-up my huntin', why did ya shoot?" I told him his damn birds were interruptin' my sleep and I dealt with it my way. Oh yea, they were heading right towards your tree stand when I shot too. " You SOB" he says. I told him that he could pick up "his" bird in m yard if he wanted to, I have no use for it anymore, I'm awake now.

The part that scared me a little was when he said he walked across his yard in his underware. I got a bad image of a middle age man, maby not in the best of shape, with quite a bit of fur. Kinda like a hung over bear in tighty whities. Not something I want to see in my yard.

Mostly true story, I picked up the bird, plucked/ gutted it and threw it into the freezer. Not gonna waste a free turkey now am I. I'm gonna eat the SOB! Also, I actually don't wear anything to bed sooo... I had to put my underwear on before going out in "public". Don't worry Phil I'll make sure I bring an extra set of tighty whities to Chasy. Gotta find ones without skid marks, don't want to make a bad first impression on you fellas.

I am Randy Quaid! Nah, not really, he's the smarter cousin' Eddie we have in our clan. I'm the crazy one! Ok, the bears have been in my garbage one too many times this week. Pissin' me off!! Anyone need a bear skin rug and some rendered bear fat for cookin'? Rendered bear fat makes a nice, flakey pie crusts. It also serves as a water proofin' for leather and such. I'm thinkin' that a 330 grain, lead, 62 caliber, patched round ball with a 70 grain load of FFFG will take care of my problem. What do ya'll think?

Front stuffers are for kids. How about a 750 grain A-max over 233 grains of H50BMG?

Only real men shoot smokepoles. Who do you think tamed this country - not boys with big toys, it was real men with smokepoles that's who! Boys with small peckers prefer the former.:baby: If it makes U feel better I could get a front loader that is either a 1 inch wall gun (used for sinking small ships years ago along the St. Lawrence) or a 3 inch cannon.:laser:

And then what we can do is stand about 300 yds apart and each of us take a shot at the other guy. I will let you go first. I have nothing against front stuffers, I just like to hit what I am shooting at. I know some of the newer stuff is pretty good but I like to shoot for group size. I dont hunt so bore size doesn't matter to me. This country was tamed long before we got here by something called a bow.

Aaah Ummmh, I better not take that challenge. I'm not that good of a shot with those things any farther than 50 yds. Plus i'd have to steal my buddy's cannon and load it with grape shot to have any chance of hitting anything. You're right about the bow, love those things too, only if it's a self bow or long bow, none of that compound crap for me. I appreciate the newer, bigger, better cartriage guns but prefer to front load. I like the flash in the pan and cloud of stinky smoke out the barrel :painkiller:. Lots of fun! Although I do love my 1884 Trapdoor in 45-70!

I have shot both compound and strait bows and neither of them did anything for me. Something about throwing a stick through the air at the speed of smell that keeps me from going back and doing it again. How about a Winny 1873 in 44-40WCF with a serial number under 8,000? That puts it as a first year of production. Needs a little work though. I am going to finish it for my dad as a house warming preasant when they get there house built.

Sweet little gun there! I just like the challenge of the old bows. Compounds almost do the work for ya, almost. Same with guns, I like the old ones. I would like to get a Taurus Judge in 3inch for rabbit huntin' though. Still an old cartriage in 45 long colt with the added punch of 410.
