well that sucks....maybe they should find a place for us to ride legally then.....years past it was a nightmare if you were a skate boarder, always being harrased and handed tickets for trespassing, stupid stuff like this, FINALLY now that I'm to old to get back on a board (LOL, I would surely break something other than the board) there are skate parks all over the place where kids can skate rather than get into trouble...just an example of what I think would be nice for our governement to do for us ATV'ers.

That does suck. Pretty much typical though. What happened to the Niagara atv club? Don't they have legal trails? Or Haldimand

It basically said the OPP will be out in full force ticketing people in the southern Niagara region. Welland Canal etc and a bunch of other areas that are being used for illegal riding.
I'd be careful at the GM plant as I think it's a part of the Welland canal too.

this sucks majorly. canall is one place where we went thinking that nobody will have issues with us riding. such a big province and no place to ride around without having to drive up north for hours. this fu_cked up my day.

There is always St.Williams, probably just as close as the canal for you. Until they shut it down that is. But right there is part of the problem with having these areas. You can't barely pull off the trails there without having to worry about running over a bunch of beer bottles. Garbage and crap left all over the place. The few people that are too lazy to pack out what they bring in will ruin it for us all in the end.

That is exactly what ruined riding on our local lake here.

Never been to St. Williams. will have to figure out the area. Does anybody have a map or a sketch of the trail network that could pass to me????

As a small club we are constantly fighting to gain more private land, but as stated above, a small few can ruin it for all. a cpl bikes pull a dounut on a farmers corn field...we can loose half our trail network. St wiliams is a blast but best when wet from what I rode last weekend.

Hey guys the Haldiman club has trails in the Dunnville, Cayuga area they have left it up to Quad Niagara to get trails in the Welland area. I originally was one of the guys to try and start a club in Welland area before Quad Niagara problem is with the land owner use agreement that is signed with a club. I believe this is how it goes The Seaway is owned by the Federal Government who then leases it to the Seaway Authority who then leases it to Port Colbourne, Welland etc so the problem is who signs the land use agreement too many hands on the property makes it a bureaucratic nightmare. I have sat in on Region meetings and these people are just a joke to deal with. If policing gets to out of hand then maybe we will have to have a huge ATV rally that we want to have somewhere to ride. There is well over 7000 atv's registered in the Niagara region I am sure if a good number of them showed up one day on the canal we would get recogniced as a force to be reconed with. If it can be showed to the politicians that there is a dollar symbol for the Niagara region they would be all over it. They are bending over backwards for cyclist right now because of the monies they get from the government to build trails. In the big picture atv's are getting noticed from the provincial government cause sales are skyrocketing and they are putting monies aside for trails but it has to go through proper channels to get issued to a club in the area. It's as usual all political bullshit to get things done.
Hope that explains a little bit so people understand why a club is needed and has to be supported through membership fees. I was a hater of clubs also but when you see behind the scenes you understand what they actually do to give you an area to ride.
If you guys want to ride this area you need to support Quad Niagara and become members and give your time and money to help fight the politicians that we need somewhere to ride.
Sorry for preaching but it is the truth.

Very VERY well put Brad. We ALL need to join together as one union of sorts to combat the politics. Also as stated, we as quad riders need to be more respectful of our land and riding areas. If U have enough time and energy to bring something in with ya, PLEASE take it back out. There is NO MORE land to be made, gotta look after what we where given.
As stated, MONEY talks. Remember that there is alot more when banded together, than U have on your own. (at least in my case). AN ATV ralley sounds like a very good idea, as long as there is some sort of agenda and no caos.
If U can maybe throw that around at your meetings, we can get media and polititions together to discuss this amicably. But we all know that things don't change overnight.
