View Full Version : I need some new tires for the truck
I'm almost ready to buy some new tires for my truck. I'm running 265/75's right now on 16" factory wheels. I am wanting to stay with the same size but wanting a tire that will get me more miles than what my Good Year Wrangler's have. I've only gotten about 47,000 out of these so far. I might get 50,000 or a tad more out of them. What do you guys recommend getting that won't break the bank and maybe get me more miles than the Good Years???
I don't abuse my tires doing burnouts and what not. Just plain old highway driving. And I do not need a mud tire. I'm looking at an all terrain tire or just a plain old highway tire.
Oh yeah I have a 2001 Chevy Z71 1500 short bed 4x4 if that helps any.

I got a little over 50,000 miles on some Bridestone Duelers on a Z71 same size tire. I don't know the price on them they were on it when it was new.

Michelin LTX M/S
I have had them on three vehicles, 4Runner, Highlander (wife's) and my Tundra. They last forever and have fantastic traction. My wife's set are at 93K miles on them and I think they will last another 30K - 40K before we put new ones on. Price is pretty good too.
man you guys get some mileage, I figure if I can get 40,000 out of a set I am happy, maybe thats because I never bought a highway tire.
My top three choices right now are: Michelin LTX M/S, Bridgestone Dueler A/T, GoodYear Fortera TripleTred.
I read some reviews on the tire rack website and the Michelins and GoodYears I mentioned above got GREAT reviews and ratings. I really like the looks of the Duelers though but looks aren't everything. I mainly want mileage and good wet and dry traction from whatever tires I buy so the Michelins will probly be my best bet right now.
