Gopher Dunes

Well, seeing as our 'regular' spot has become a nature preserve and we were already loaded and ready to ride, we went to Gopher Dunes.

After riding for free for ever, it was a bitter pill to swallow to pay to ride, but honeslty, I had a riot!! I put more KM's on there than I would in 3 trips playin in the mud at the 'other' place. LOL.

I would like to extend a special thanks to Frank for the guided tour. I think he had almost as much fun watching us race as we did playing. LOL

Turns out, a great ride was had after a very shitty morning.

Yup. And i learned something today......even if your arms are coated with a half inch of mud, you can still get sunburn! Pics will be up tomorrow afternoon. I was going to say morning, but after all the critics with the last pics post, i'll say afternoon. lol

Yeah Gopher Dunes is a great place, I've never riden a quad there but when I use to have my Chevy 4x4 we all went up there twice a year to run in the mud pits.

They have 3 trails that total approx 20 - 24km (I thinks thats what they said.) There is mud just off most of the trails if you want it. All the trails are one way traffic, so no need to worry about a head on.
The area with the big mud is under review and should be available to ATV's in the near future.

Ok, ladies and Gentlemen, heres the scoop. Krusher and myself just got back from Gopher Dunes. We had a chat with management about them allowing us to run in the truck pits. These are 3 BIG mud pits!! They are tossing around the idea of putting together a mud ATV event, but arent convinced that they can make money on it.

So, heres the deal. If, IF we can get enough people together for Sunday, they will take us over to play in the pits, race each other and just in general, show them that they can use this other piece of property to make money. So we need a good turn out.

Any and all are welcome to come and help with the cause, we just need everyone to play by the rules if we ever hope to have them host an ATV mud fest. Pay your $25 at the gate, read the rules and have fun.

There is a big motocross event on there that day, so during a break in riding, there will be some fast MX to watch.
The trails are open and in good condition with a few big mud pits in the bush to test out your equipment ( Al. LOL )

Hope to see you guys there at 11am when the gates open so we can show up as a big group.

well it starts and runs good but havent been out on her yet!!! got to go out and play in the mud and then we will see. they are supose to be a decent atv in the 400 class. they were given a 5 out of 5. so we will have to see!!
