never notice any noise or performance issues, but after riding a used 02 700 for over a year I decided to do a little maintenance, when checking the belt for signs of wear this is what I found, anybody know what would cause this, I have since replaced the clutch assy, aahhhgg, and all is ok but I never got a good answer as to what could cause this type of failure, anybody?

agreed, a lot of heat.
I have one full of hairline cracks that I think I did when I got her stuck in a NASTY hole, I replaced mine at that time. I also just bought a backup but its got a loot of wear in the lower part of the sheeve and a lot of little short cracks down around the bottom, I'd be afraid to even try it myself????

do you need to buy the whole assy or could you just buy the sheaves somewhere

I can only order the complete clutch minus the weights.

the whole thing dude....I looked into that, but I was told its not possible. I have 3 clutches sitting in the garage, 2 are interchangable, but they both have the same problems :(
