I noticed i had a oil leak at my rear diff by my caliper, when i wiggle the drive shaft i have movment at the pinion. What is the best way to pull the rear diff out, and what do u guys think is wrong, is it just a seal and bearing or worse. It does not make any funny noises right now just leakes. how does the bearing come off and what else should i look for. Any help would be great

remove the 4 side bolts and the trailer ball attachment, remove the bolt in the drive shaft, remove the caliper, then yank straight back to get the axles to pop out. it's probably just the seal, no big deal.

thanks wake, you belive that the seal would cause the drive shaft to be able to wobble at the rear diff? thanks again, i would of asked on the can-am forums but i always get a bunch of f***ed up answers and even though i only get a few replies here their have not let me down yet and thier is not a lot of little girls complaining about whats better. lol

i'm not sure about the wobble. i just replace diffs than try to fix them.

I'm not sure on the Can Am quads but in the automotive world if you can wiggle the pinion gear then the pinion bearings are spent and depending on distance traveled it will most likely need a ring and pinion set too.
