I installed a marine radio on my 2005 Honda Rancher 350 and it works when the engine isnt running, but when you start the engine it turns off and just blinks in the off mode very dimmly. So i ran the wiring to my fathers 400 rancher at and it works fine on it running or not! Any ideas to the problems would be greatly appreciated!!!!

you have it hook up wrong, not getting a full 12 volts, fine another source for 12 volts

I have it ran straight to the battery with an in-line fuse. I also tried an accessory plug and it does the same thing!!!

Might try a resistor spark plug

Be sure you have a good ground the ground can cause more trouble than the pos. can. Sounds like you have a bad ground on the bike when you start in it trying to charge using the stereo as the ground point. What dose the headlights do when its runing flicker some.

The Battery is a new battery, and i changed my ground and it is good now, i also found out that the voltage regulator was bad, so i changed it and it still does it! I think im gonna try a resistor spark plug, maybe that will work, who knows!!!! But it is giving me a headache!!!

So your spark plug was the problem ? Was it getting a weak spark or did you go up a size ? I would have never thought of that to be the problem

Non-resisor spak plugs create much more electrical "noise" or RFI that can screw with radios and other sensative electronics.
