Went out with English on Saturday to check out the trails but because we had some 2wd bikes we stayed to tamer trails. Sounds like next weekend will be different? Took some video of the trails if anyone is interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZPeDbWN5R8&feature=channel Hopefully see a few bikes from here out would be good to meet you in person and I am sure English will show us a good time.
Paul the rad relocate for the 800 looks great to by the way.

Lmao, poor guy. We are off to Gibson Lake area just north of Port Severn. Probably just a day ride unless something happens.

ran a charity ride yesterday...50+ bikes and the rad relocate got some serious attention. Unfortunately just coz ur rads up top everyone thinks the bike can go anywhere....until i get it snorkeled i had to wuss out of the water and mud competitions..mind you...one of the mud pros found out snorkels don't work worth a shit when your tires are the only thing sticking out of the water..LOL All good though..got it towed home and he had it up and running in short order!

For any non-OFATV members that make it out from RDC I will split the cost of the day pass to get you out if that is what it takes? Le me know so I know how much cash to have for English.

Wher we ride in Kearney we don't get or need a day pass.
English
08-31-2010, 07:28 PM
i hear ya paul..but im stuck under contract with OFATV. The way my land is it takes a bunch of $$ to keep it maintained. One good ride with 10 bikes in the wet areas can cost a chunk to fix so been with a club is essential for me and my property to keep it usable :(
The club pust in around 5-10 G a year just in maintenance..if we didnt do that then we would have no trails to ride. Just the luck of the draw with southern ontario :(

No passes and lots of trails to ride is why I love Alberta as well. But to support the sport buying a day pass or 2 or getting a OFATV membership for $150/yr to have somewhere legal to ride locally and folks working on more trails is cheap considering the money I have dropped on this thing. Just another item on my "Pay to Play" list I guess?

I hear ya. It prob costs the same for me to drive the 20-25min to Innerkip and pay the $20 or to drive an hour + to ride st Williams for free.... Are you still payn half the cost this ride 850XPEPS?...hehe. Ive only been once and didnt meet you. What time you guys planning to ride sunday?? I think I only seen half the trails last time, English herd i was coming with a Honda and took me straight to the mud/swamp to "put me in my place". Doh. (DAM straight axles).

I think it's supposed to rain all weekend.
English
09-02-2010, 09:37 AM
I sure hope so..our trails are best when wet and even better during rain or just after a heavy rain...that way it's easier for me to drop unsuspecting riders in to deep holes LOL
ya getting worried yet 850xpeps..LOL
Meeting at my place around 11-30 onwards Marty.

Of course I am worried. Going to crank up the shocks a notch or 2 and add air to the horns to try and gain some clearance and have been on WildBoar eyeing up prices on rim and tire kit? What PSI are you running your horns at again?

Don't think staying away from the mud worked out real well for your buddy thanks to English's guided tour. Great day on the trails and lots of fun should have some video up shortly will post the link.

nice vid...next time we'll have to venture in to the untamed sections of the swamp...that stuff is bottomless..think Rob would dominate in there as its so soft high centering won't be an issue. Ripped out my axle tonight..tiny tear in the CV boot...so new outer joint in the am and i'm back up n running!! Worth it for the fun I had last night!! My new hobby...tree bending!!
Krusher
09-06-2010, 07:49 PM
I'll be heading to Royal in the morning for a new outer shaft, boot, brake line and rad fan.Still can't what for the next time out. It's only money

09-06-2010, 07:55 PM
Jeez Rob, sounds like you had the same kind of ride as me.
850XPEPS
09-06-2010, 08:06 PM
Yeah you didn't need a bigger winch English just a bigger tree but that is what happens when you can't see your headlights for the log in front as your buried in mud.
English
09-06-2010, 09:30 PM
i'm still gutted when i tryed to winch rob out of that lil hole he first got stuck in even with both my winches i couldn't do anything..his winch came of a log skidder i think..lol if i'd had that i would of at least been able to take fire wood home Ken!!
Defo hit the main trails next time Rob so you can at least see more than the first 2 mud sections before breaking...but then again...i normally don't get much further before bike failure..LOL
850XPEPS
09-06-2010, 09:45 PM
Yeah can't understand the bike failure you don't push it at all?

I turned my res down a bit but not enough i guess. 850xpeps my buddy had a blast and didnt mind a bit. He was so happy he got his electrical issue worked out, he was ready to use it as a fire starter a few weeks ago...hehe :peace:

No "we" didnt... but had a good laugh at you tryn..hehe. (did i type that out loud?) I must admit the rad on the racks is the only reason you were able to ride with a honda ALL DAY. I remember 1st ride you were hot 1/2hr into mudride..

Glad to read here that the rad kit is working well for you English!
Who has the busted axle, that sucks?
Whats with the wooden trail section, looks like you guys were riding on one of those old car amusement park rides with the old car that goes around the park on a steel guide with a cute little wooden trail all laid out in front of them LOL.
English
09-07-2010, 08:28 AM
thats a 1/2km long wooden road we put in to get through a section of swamp thats unpassabvle by most bikes in spring and fall...there are 3 other trails that run along side it that are great mud sections. It helped us keep the trails open longer when the wet stuff arrives.
Rad kit has made riding fun again! Krusher broke his axle/CV and i blew a CV.

hmmm, it doesnt look that tough in the pictures, but maybe it is a lot worse in person.
Sorry to hear about the axles, we had someone loose a couple on our ride too, AND a smoked front diff, all on the same machine.

Wouldn't be Scott would it? Our ride wasn't exactly trouble free either. On mine, complete electrical failure. Pull start only. Then something in the clutches, not sure yet as I just parked it for another time. Froogs too, Transmission is crunching like hell in reverse. Then electrical crap. And 3 wheel drive. The list goes on. Gotta love rideing in horizontal rain for hours. No dust though LMAO.
