....with a stone cold engine 3 seconds after you switch on the key

This is on my buds '05 700 Sportsman....

any suggestions other than a new ECM...it was just replaced 2 months ago under the recall.

When running it will go back to nermal and intermittently flash...along with the battery light.

The battery is new and there does not appear to have any parasitic drain ie: power going out when the key is off---measured both with a DVM and the remove batt cable and re-connect and look for arc method.

Can these be related ?

lil' help cheers!

had this happen to mine. there was a bad connection at the temperature sensor. unplugged the connection sprayed it out with wd-40 then put dialect grease on the connection and it was good to go.

That was the first place I looked ;)
He goes way deeper than me in the mudd so I regularly clean them with contact cleaner and load it up with dilectric grease....use about as much of that as I do CV grease during the rainy season LOL

Flashes regardless of plugged in or not.....good continuity thruout the wiring too....

Thanx for the reply! cheers....got more

your sure the power wire going to the sensor isn't shorting to ground eh? There's no way it should be on with the plug off. The sensor just acts as an on/off switch.

Do you know if your friend happens to have a fan on/off switch mod on his machine??

Reason I ask is when I have my fan switch in the "on" position and I start it from cold it will flash "HOT" unless I turn the fan switch off.
