Yeah Dave, I have one of the de-mounting changers I got from TSC, but forget which brand.
Totally manual, but serves the purpose. Under $100.

i got a manual one from princess auto. it was 50 bucks. the same amount it costs to switch the tires at the shop. it was changed 3 sets of tires now. well worth it. we keep it in our trailer and it gets kept at the lake where all are riding gets done.
Depends what for tire your trying to remove, I bought one of those cheapos from harbor freight with the atv attachment, what a joke, no way was it going to efficiently break a bead, So now I use a K&L MC135 (i think) tire changer and bead breaker, I paid close to $600 a couple years ago, worth every penny for a lower volume machine, I am going to get an electric/air machine here in the next year or so hopefully and I am keeping what I have for the stubborn ones.

Well I went out and bought a tire changer from Harbor Freight ( $39.95 ) and if I must say it worked verry well for me if I must say . We changed some tires today and all was good . Now my buddy bought some tires that had 1.250 tread depth we were ready to put them on and he decided to take them back and got the tires with .750 tread depth on them . He said that it would feel like he was always riding on rail road tracks with the bigger lugs onthe tires ,is this a true statement ? The tires are Mudlites .

At very low speeds you can feel the lugs a bit. They will be rougher than stock but mudlites are a very mild tire & you only really notice the difference for the first few days & then you forget how the other ones rode.
My Bi/Tri claws are WAY more aggressive than the lites are & they ride just as smooth. At low speed they are rougher but after you hit 15 MPH you cant tell at all.

From what I have heard the Mudlites are a good all around trail, mud tire Is this true ? When I put tires on mine I think I want the deeper lugs , as I do trail riding and sum playin in the mud .

that type is normally made to put in a shop press or something along those lines. The biggest problem with atv tires is the extra bead retaining "ring" rolled into the rim to hold the tire on since your using low pressure. My harbor freight one works find for actual mounting and dismounting but the bead breaker sucks, I sweated balls and cussed at that thing more than I care to share.

these are supposed to work nice but I never used one. Breaking the bead is the hardest thing, after that you can change any tire in a few short minutes with tire irons if that is all you have. I still change some of the really small tires and many dirtbike and motorcycle tires with tire irons, mainly because I am good at it and can do it pretty quick.

And that dismounts and mounts ATV tires, 6 ply tires with aluminum wheels?
That was only $40 at Princess Auto?

yes sir. you can't use it to mount tires on rims with no hole in the middle. like my polaris ones.

yeah, that's the same one I've got. Work great for dismounting them, works ok for mounting them, not great. If you actually bolt it down to the floor of your garage it would work much better.

i bolted mine down to a piece of plywood. so you can move it around. you just stand on the plywood and the changer won't move.
those type make me cuss on atv tires, maybe the bigger 12 and 14" tires would be easier but I have one like that that and it blows, maybe someone else has better luck, only thing I use that for is popping the bead on some motorcycle tires. If I had to buy a cheap one I would get the James Lucky (JL ATV) then get some tire irons to change the tire, tire irons are super easy once you get the hang of them.
edit: let me clarify the ones you guys are looking at work fine for swapping the tire but breaking the bead is what wouldn't work for shit for me.

Used mine to mount a 285/75 on a 16" rim 2 days ago (my spare). Took a lil bit but got it on there. Then changed out my dad's stock tires on his grizzly for my old stock pxt 26s.
