I have been job hunting since Christmas when the factory i worked for closed down. Its only been 1 month but it feels like forever. I was at my last place *Hidden Hitch* for 13 years & this job hunting thing is all new to me again.
I am now a production welder for MBRP (http://www.mbrp.com/) performance exhaust in Huntsville Ontario.
It will take some adjustments to get in to production work after all those years of working in maintenance but the $$$ is ok & that is what really matters in the end. As long as it pays the bills ...

....I'm currently unemployed as of Friday---firist time in 33 years......VERY strange feeling as I have never really had to go job "hunting"......

Congrats on the job!! I'm wondering if Barky ever made exhaust work for the 6.4 Ford without getting a check engine light and bad driveability issues?? Last I heard he had given up.

The only thing i know about their stuff is that i have one of their old stainless cans on my popo.
For those who want a system let me get my 3 months in & then contact me again & i will see if i get a discount through them.:biggrin1:
Well it looks like i wont have to pay a shop to weld up my stainless snorks for me.:amen:
You never know I just might have to go in to production making pipes for bikes on the side.

nice. that would be sweet to have a job at a place that also makes atv accessories or in this case exhausts.
Riven

They dont do ATV's any more:doh: But the owners little brother just opened a shop selling the exact same stuff but in steel only.http://ggb.ca/
His stuff says non performance but is a match to my performance one. I guess the packing could be different?
I hope to be able to do some custom stuff on the side if i make it past my 3 month trial.
Perhaps an exhaust that has a bolt on snorkel extension or a pre-built triple or quad snorkel stack in polished stainless or steel.
I will have to see if they are open to new products like this or if i can work on them in my own time.

production welder sounds like alotta factory work..:puke:
I don't like it myself in either of the fields I did it in.. Stereo or when I worked at a plating place.. Just TOO much of the same thing for me.. Some guys love it but then you look at it about every job is the same thing...

I just found out that my old factory was just sold to AeroArmor Vehicles Ltd & they want 50 people now & another 50 later in the year.
I just might have to stop by & see them when they open. Building armored vehicles sounds more fun than exhaust systems. I bet they pay better too....

Riv, try and get a jump on it, see if you can get a contact name and # from one of the people you used to work for to try and get in there right away. They might know someone that bought the place if they were the ones that sold the place right????

I got the bill for the parts today. Expensive but still WAY cheaper than i could find here in Canada.
The wife is not happy:yell: LOL
Thats what she gets when she says I dont want to hear about how much it costs just fix the F'n thing for the cheapest price.
I actually told her the price for every part but i was not talking about jewlery or clothes so she really was not listening.
